“I find myself in a magic forest. It’s all shimmering and dazzling. I can hear someone breathing next to me… I can feel the sand under my feet, but I can also feel something slimy. When I look down, there are hundreds of snakes gliding towards the white sun”
Austeja Gokaite unveils her dream through a virtual reality experience. By mixing virtual reality elements and large-scale objects within the showcase space, the artist creates a reflection of the subconscious presence of nature that's within us. A group of large-scale objects of upcycled materials were created as a monumental tribute to the forest and coral reefs at the risk of extinction. These two environments of virtual and physical space create a dialogue within the installation.
